Healthy Homemade Muesli!

Because great days, start with a great breakfast!

This is the best way we know of starting ours…

INGREDIENTS:

Almonds, Chia seeds, Goji berries, milled Flax seed, Brazil nuts, Walnuts, Cashews, Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds,

METHOD:

Liberally throw a handful of every ingredient into the bowl. This is highly nutritious and bsically complete, right? Wrong. Nuts & seeds are extremely high in toxins called Lectins. These are produced by plants as a defence mechanism in order to put off potential preditors from wanting to eat them. To put these Lectins in a more familiar context; Gluten is a Lectin and it’ not even the worst one!

After preparing your bowl (ideally the night before) spirnkle a handfull of salt into the bowl and then fill with warm water until every nut & seed is submerged. It is this soaking process that will not only kill the Lectins but will also make the nuts ad seeds far more digestable and less taxing on the gut – therefore more nutritious! The effects are eveident when looking at what happens to the cashews! The next morning; simply drain, add your choice of milk subtitute (I use almond milk but this is highly individual), drizzle one tea spoon full of local honey for flavour and to ward of the dreaded hay fever (this has genuinely worked for me – no more tablets!) and voila! One seriously healthy, tasty & nutritious breakfast ???? *add fruit I.e. Banana l, blueberries etc to taste ????
